I am a highly experienced and versatile web developer and currently manage the web development team for a marketing company based in Stoke-on-Trent.
Highly qualified and experienced in all aspects of web-based projects my career path has grown into management and leadership positions.
I started in the industry by building websites and bespoke systems that are still being used commercially today. This gave me a firm footing in all aspects of not only web development but in delivering successful solutions for clients of all sizes and sectors.
This experience has grown into the application of other platforms such as WordPress, Joomla and Magento.
I have an extremely broad skillset and the ability to identify the right tool for the job – ensuring I deliver a high quality product tailored to client requirements rather than a solution based on personal preference for any one given technology.
As I expanded the team I was given the role of team leader and to augment this natural progression I’ve taken practical steps to enhance my role – recently becoming PRINCE2 qualified and becoming proficient with Traffic scheduling software and I’m keen to continue finding new ways to extend my career.
I am an excellent communicator who knows how to listen. I am as comfortable handling client presentations as building bespoke eCommerce systems.
I appreciate the need to temper cutting-edge solutions with clear business sense. I am always focused on quality balanced with profitability.
I have a genuine passion for the potential of new media and technology not only commercially but also as a tool for social change.
I think one of my key strengths is building and maintaining relationships; within the team and with clients.
Regardless of sector I can use technical tools and analyse information coupled with excellent communication skills and a real understanding of how customer business needs can be augmented with new media.
This gives me a unique balance of technical expertise, business understanding and team building skills.
Interests
I try and balance my 2 Sons of 10 and 14 with a love of rock music – which actually manifests as a perpetual and protracted argument around why Led Zeppelin is better than Ed Sheeran and why books are better than XBOX! This tension can be relieved with walks in the countryside and the occasional return to my home town of Deal in Kent to fish from the pier.
